U9 Girls Win LCSL Fall 2007 Playoffs!!! |

Congratulations to the U9 Girls of LaGrange Youth Soccer Association who placed first in the U9 Girls Division of the Lorain County Soccer League Tournament on Saturday, October 20, 2007. The girls braved the windy autumn weather to beat two teams and earn the title of County Champions. During the regular season the girls had a record of 7-1 and had a combined tournament and regular season record of 9-1-0. The top four teams from the division qualified for the tournament. In the tournament the girls defeated Amherst by a score of 6-2 in the first round and then went on to win a challenging and well executed game versus undefeated Lorain by a score of 3-2 to take First Place. The girls were wonderfully coached by Joe Kasnyik & Tony Stefan. WAY TO GO GIRLS!!!

At the November board meeting, Shari Sackett announced her resignation as LYSA Board President due to conflicts with her work schedule. Brian Birchfield has now assumed the duties of interim President, pending an election at the January 20th board meeting.
In Shari's one year as President, our organization has reached new heights. This past fall we had a record number of participants, in no small part to the efforts she put forth. We will greatly miss her leadership, but have been assured by her that she will continue to assist LYSA as time permits. Thank you, Shari, for all that you have done!

A special congratulations to the U9 Girls team coached by Joe Kasnyik & Tony Stefan and the U9-A Boys team coached by David Sokolowski on making the Lorain County Soccer League 2007 Fall playoffs! Their teams will be in action this coming Saturday, October 20th, at the Oberlin soccer complex on Hamilton Road. Good luck at the playoffs!!!
